Plain answers about hyperfocus, flow and deep work — what the research actually shows, where it runs out, and where HYPER fits.

How these pages are sourced

Every research claim on these pages comes from HYPER’s evidence ledger: 141 claims about hyperfocus and the research around it, each one read at its original source, recorded with how the study was done, and kept together with its caveat. If a claim isn’t in the ledger, these pages don’t make it.

The caveat travels with the claim. A finding from 85 students is described as a finding from 85 students. A proposal is called a proposal. A number that can’t be traced to a validated measurement isn’t repeated, however often it circulates.

The ledger also keeps a list of claims we refuse to make — popular lines about hyperfocus that the sources don’t support. Many of the most-repeated lines about hyperfocus are on that list, which is why these pages say “nobody knows yet” more often than most.

And one line is kept apart from all of it: that going deep is worth protecting is HYPER’s conviction, not a research finding. Where a page argues a position rather than reporting evidence, it says so at the top.

HYPER is made by one person, not a company: the app, this site and these pages. Every research claim here is checked against HYPER’s evidence ledger: 141 claims, each read at its original source and kept together with its caveat. Where the research runs out, the page says so.
